Greg noted that this was in the original Quality/Accuracy work. A "Figure of Merit" attaches to each golden waveform, describing fit to simulator output. Documentation should include the name of the simulator. Consensus to add back in to the first draft. - AR review (none open) None. - Opens for new items *Bob Ross - Linux executable uploaded. AR: Barry to send test case for ibischk3.2.8 "warnings" to Bob. *Latest minutes have been uploaded. *Barry has the IBIS parser regression test case file available as a = zip/tar file. - Discuss adding Summary section at top of IBIS file (tabled from previous meeting). *Per older minutes, quality "header" in IBIS file. Thoughts were to = collect summary of models (and other objects) quality ratings at the top. Could be done using a script. EDA tool support for this is needed if we = decide to do this? No, but helpful - just don't want to wait for them. Script could be "freeware" uploaded to IBIS/Quality web site. Format as a comment, possibly a "controlled" comment (such as |IQ), to not require a BIRD. Or could go under [Notes]. Some parsers skip comment strings. Consensus is to put summary of quality ratings at the top using "|IQ". - Level 0 keywords and required tool support. *Documents minimum IBIS keywords and subparameters, and how tools use that data. Also document how data is checked. AR: Barry to bring checklist up to date, based on past minutes. AR: Lynne and Barry to identify Level 0 keywords. - Identify limitations in IBIS specification for feedback to the IBIS committee *IBIS has limitations in waveform processing. Example: different definitions of over/undershoot. Some semiconductor vendors specify areas, others absolute voltages. Some of this is simply not defined in IBIS waveform processing capabilities. BIRD 75 allows users to add things like this directly to models, but this will probably only be used for high-end models. *Email from Eckhard today, things that could be added to the checklist. Number of logic stages between SPICE source and buffer (he recommends at least 3, to make buffer characteristics independent of SPICE source slew rate). Length of lead-in time for V-t tables (time from Time=3D0 to time V-t starts) - different EDA tools handle this differently. Need to separate internal delay of = buffer from external logic stage delay. Must shift all V-t tables by the same amount to keep proper accuracy of internal buffer delay. *Summary: Some of dead lead-in time can be removed, and captured in the timing test loads. V-t tables must have the same lead-in time removal for accurate simulation waveforms. Timestep for V-t tables is also critical. - Schedule next meeting July 30, 11 AM EST (8 AM PST) Phone: 408-974-8478 or 800-249-5618 Meeting access: CONFERENCE SERVER 2, Conference ID: 4203 --------------------------------------------------------------------- IBIS Quality archives: http://www.freelists.org/archives/ibis-quality To unsubscribe send an email: To: ibis-quality-request@freelists.org Subject: unsubscribe
